March Project Life Album: Part II

Hi there!  Today, I thought I would share part II of my March Project Life album.  I've been working this one throughout the month, and decided to use my Lisse Street Project Life kit to put together a few page.  This 6x8 album size is so fun! I've really really enjoyed working with this size this month and I can totally see why so many people choose to document their lives using this smaller, more manageable size.  It's easy to pick and take with you, and most of the photo sizes are your common, everyday printable sizes.

If you saw part I of my March album or watched the video,  you probably heard me say that I am using Ali Edwards' Week in the Life album from last year.  I ended up putting together a digital photo book through Artifact Uprising for my WITL, so I had this pretty white album just waiting to be used.  Ali designed a few different sized page protectors, so I've had a lot of fun incorporating different sized photos (in page protectors) in my album.

The first "page" for this section is a smaller "coin-sized" page protector.  I LOVE this size!  It's perfect for those "not so great" photos.  I filled up most of the slots with photos, but left one empty, which I added a chipboard sticker to (both the front and back).  The chipboard pieces in the Lisse Street Project Life kit are so fun - and they are designed by my fave designer, Marcy!!

To keep my album "easy", I try to stick with the photo or card sized to fit each pocket.  Sometimes I have a smaller photo that I might add onto a larger journaling card, but for the most part, adding in true to size cards/photos has really simplified the process of Project Life for me!

And while these pages definitely contain more "plastic" than some of my other Project Life albums this year, I sill made sure to include a few large photos and full spread photos.  Full spread photos are my favorite!  And this photo of my two kiddos above needs to be blown up into a poster-sized print.  Love them!

I used this Q/A card from the kit to ask my kids some silly questions and recorded their answers on a few tags.  The tags are slipped right behind their photos, which creates for a fun interactive element to the spread!

And that's a look at my album so far!  With a beach trip and a recent birthday, I have plenty more photos to add, so this is going to be one full book!  You all know I love a chunky album!

Six

Happy happy birthday to you, my sweet girl.  I can't believe you are already six.  It feels like just yesterday that you came into this world screaming your head off.  You loved to snuggle and be with anyone (especially me) since day one and that has not changed one bit.  You are smart, spunky, passionate and so kind-hearted.  You love mermaids and princesses, jewelry and dresses.   Your style is mismatched and amazing.  You have the cutest little check dimple when you laugh really hard and I smile every single time I see it.  You are an amazing reader and fly though chapter books in a few hours.  You love to play pretend, especially family, and you are usually the big sister.  Your brother is your best friend and the bond that you two have is undeniable.  You could eat cereal every meal and have never met a vegetable that you didn't love (asparagus and broccoli are your faves).

Always stay you.  Stay sweet and spunky.  Stay silly and loving.  Stay smart and strong.  Just stay you.  Lots of love to you, my sweet baby girl. Happy day!!

Lisse Street Reveal // Studio Calico

The Lisse Street kits at Studio Calico are now live for subscribers!!!  This month is full of pretty flowers, spring colors and bold accents!  The pops of gold throughout the kits are the perfect finishing touches!!

I created four layouts and a whole slew of Project Life spreads for my gallery this month!!
Once I get started, it's hard to stop!!

Here is a look at my two Lisse Street Main Scrapbook kit only layouts:

Darling
The yellow floral paper was just to pretty to hide all the way, so I layered my trimmed white background over the paper to give it a little edge on the top and bottom!!

The labels and tags had the perfect sentiments and paired so well with the papers!!

And I added my journaling along the left side of the page for some fun texture and movement!  Stitched journaling strips are so fun!!

YEAH
I started this page with the photo of my kids and knew I wanted to use a large title next to the photo and layers!

The large alpha are so fun and so perfect for big bold titles!!  To keep some sort of femininity on my page, I added simple layers under my photo with stamps, sentiments and journaling tags.

Be sure to hop on over to the Creative Team gallery for more inspiration from the Lisse Street kits

There are some fun products this month too!! Be sure to hop on over to the reveal page to check out the same, papers and more!

And I'll be back with more fun projects using these goodies soon!!

Happy Friday!!

March Project Life Album: Part I

Three months - three Project Life albums.  And yep! I still love this new process.  It's been so fun to mix things up each month, think outside of the box with my supplies and just have fun.  I've used stamps more than I EVER have in my life and they are my new fave.

For my March Project Life album, I had originally planned to try out the 6x12 size.  I'm obsessed with Kelly Purkey's amazing 6x12 album.  Her photos are gorgeous, the large photos rock and it's just plain awesome.  But I couldn't do it.  I couldn't make that size work for me.  I couldn't figure out a base or cover and then from there, I just felt lost.  I decided to look through my collection o'albums (come on, we all have one, right?), and I pulled out Ali's Week in the Life album that I never got around to using!

The format is very similar to a 6x8 album with just a few different sized page protectors.  And after this month, I totally see why people LOVE the 6x8 size.  It's fun, it's easy and it's so versatile!!

My book contains more of the same ideas I've included for the previous months - full spread photos, large photos, stamped quotes, artwork and extras!  It's just an album full of love and memories!

You can read more about this album over on the Studio Calico blog today!!  I also put together a quick little walk through video of my album so far.

I used lots of the Odyssey kits for these pages - both the scrapbook and Project Life kits!!  And of course, those Laina alpha stamps (including the digital ones)!

I have more pages from my March album to share with the April Lisse Street kits from Studio Calico!!  I'll be back with more soon!!

February Project Life Album: Part II

Yippee!! My February Project Life album is finished and on my bookshelf!  I really really loved the 4x4 size from February, and I actually even had a little withdrawal when I started putting my March Project Life album together!  The 4x4 is just such a fun size!  The majority of my photos are square anyway, so most of them were on my camera just waiting to be printed.  I think my favorite part of this album is having full spread photos (that span the width and height of the album).

Here is a look at the end of my February Project Life book!
You can see a video of the first part of my book on the Studio Calico blog if you are interested.

I included lots of extra pieces, like tags, in my book!!  Adding in different elements of size is super fun!

I also included lots of fun cards, Valentine's extras and other memorabilia that I had collected throughout the month.  I love that these special cards are part of our memories!

I got creative here, and added in a few of my favorite new recipes using interactive flaps (quick tutorial coming to the Big Picture Classes blog soon)!!  Yum!

And what album of mine would be complete without a collage of some sort??! :)
These photos all feel on the last week of the month while my husband and I were away on vacation.  As you can see, I took quite a few and I knew there was no way they were going to fit into my album as individual photos.  I used my favorite, Picmonkey.com, to create two collages and then added them in as a double spread collage!  I'll most likely create a photo book or mini album from these photos, but I love that they are in this book as well!!

Such a cute little chunky book!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed this little walk down February's memory lane with me!!  I'm so enjoying this new monthly Project Life process and I thank you so much for following along and for all of your encouraging words!!

xoxo
